Urgent & Emergency Care

If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911.
Columbus Air Force Base offers the following services:

  • Urgent Care

Urgent Care

Urgent Care services treat non-life-threatening health issues that require immediate attention, such as sprains, the flu, colds, and other common illnesses.

If you’re unsure about whether you need urgent care, contact the Military Health System Nurse Advice Line to speak to a registered nurse. Visit MHSNurseAdviceLine.com for web chat and video chat, or dial 1-800-TRICARE (874-2273).

For non-emergent, acute illness or injury requiring evaluation and treatment by a provider within 24 hours when the clinic is closed, a referral is required only for active duty members prior to seeking medical care. Call 662-434-CARE (2273) or 800-982-4260 and select the option for NALMS for directions for obtaining care. If an active duty member chooses to use an urgent care facility without provider referral or does not call 434-CARE before they go, they will be subject to Point of Service charges (out of pocket). Retirees and dependents do not require a referral.

Emergency Care

If you are experiencing a life-threatening medical situation (including mental health emergencies), call 911 immediately. Emergency care services treat life-threatening medical issues such as threats to your life, limbs, sight, or safety.
